Associazione di Promozione Sociale Warrols – Italy (www.associazionewarrols.it)

Warrols is an Italian cultural and social organization born in 2013 with the aim to promote business ideas and start-up for young people and disadvantages people in order to develop a social and economic regeneration within the local community.

The organization achieves these goals by running different activities, such as supporting small-medium enterprises; promoting networks between local stakeholders; running projects for the local requalification. In particular, the three main projects achieved by Warrrols are:

– Save Town, an urban incubator with the goal to “reactivate” the historical city centre of Putignano (a town from Southern Italy), by giving the opportunity to create business and

social activities for young people by recuperating old abandoned buildings of the city centre.

– The second project is called Arredamark, with the goal to design and develop sustainable streets furniture created by people with minor opportunities.

– The third main project is Cultivar, with the goal to manage and bring the knowledge for the development of business of disadvantage people by the use of seminars, workshops and other similar activities.

All of projects consisted in:

– learning workshop;

– non-formal education activities;

– support to create work opportunity;

– create a local network to support startup proposed by NEET, unemployed and adult people. In particular, the innovative and active workshops and the non-formal education activities run during those 3 main projects (especially the last one) by experts in the field, were very important in order to give new and innovative stimulus to young and adult people in the field of self-entrepreneurship. These projects have been funded by Italian Regions and Italian Ministries. From 2016, Warrols has started to apply European Calls with the aim to extend the activities and the results achieved at a local level to a European level. The current budget managed by Warrols is 30000 Euros for year.
